SAFETY & SECURITY

Our main priority at pick-up and dismissal is student safety. We ask that you please say your goodbyes outside of the school and do not accompany your student into the school unless you have business in the main office or have a pre-arranged meeting.

Our main priority at pick-up and dismissal is student safety. We ask that you please say your goodbyes outside of the school and do not accompany your student into the school unless you have business in the main office or have a pre-arranged meeting.

Although we try to be accommodating to parent needs, we must discourage impromptu meetings with teachers and administration during the school day.  In addition, we ask that you refrain from posing lengthy questions to teachers during drop-off and pick-up because our teachers should be focused on student safety during these times. If you have student questions or concerns we ask that you email your child’s teacher to arrange a meeting.

Parents, please remember to bring your students to Door 1 (main door on Grace) when late for drop-off.  Students are not to enter any other door once closed by staff.  Students who arrive after 8:15am will be marked tardy. Please note that CPS makes calls to any students marked absent from first period.  You may receive an automated call from CPS if your student is tardy, but we will make the adjustment from absent to tardy for the student record.

Kiss & Go has been running smoothly thanks to our phenomenal staff.  We do ask that you remind your students to obey the rules - no darting between cars or crossing against the lights.  In addition, we ask that parents remind students to walk their bikes when on school property and when crossing at Southport, Grace, or Janssen.  In addition, we ask that parents who are dropping students off be mindful of our process and do not double-park, drop students in the middle of the street, or block crosswalks.  When parents drop off at the designated spot and students are ready to exit the vehicle, the line moves pretty quickly.

Student safety is your priority and it is ours; we thank you for your cooperation.
